This week at Temple Recruitment we are celebrating our 10th Birthday!
Entering our 11th year of trading, we are reflecting on how far we have come and how far we still must go. Alongside this, we have International Women’s Day this Saturday and we are in the middle of Women in Construction week.
The last decade has seen significant change in the construction industry, in particularly regarding gender diversity. It has been found that companies with higher gender diversity are 21% more likely to outperform financially. It clearly isn’t as simple as more women = more money, but certainly from boardroom to site, women are driving innovation, and fresh perspectives lead to smarter solutions.
WIC week is in its 27th year. Aiming to promote education, networking and career opportunities to help support a more inclusive workforce. The construction sector moves forward with more women in the industry than ever before, speaking of women in the industry…
Back in 2015 when our MD Claire Griffin founded Temple Recruitment, women accounted for 11% of the construction workforce. Fast forward 10 years and this figure has risen to 14.7% and an all-time high. There are many reasons why this figure has increased and many reasons why it hasn’t increased enough. The important fact is that the industry is progressing in the right direction. So now after a decade of trading we can include ourselves in the fact that over 20% of leadership positions in construction companies are held by women.
What have we learnt? The importance of building great relationships. Of communication. Of consistency. With clients, candidates, everyone we deal with.
What’s next for Temple? Continuing to provide the best services we can for our clients and candidates. We are looking to expand all departments. Due to rising demand for our white-collar candidates, we will be taking on additional consultants whilst also concentrating on tech support and admin roles as well as all trades and labour. Bring on the next 10 years!!
